This project features a single storey rear extension to a semi-detached property. The brief was to extend the house to the rear in order to provide space for a large open-plan kitchen-dining room, a dedicated utility room & a downstairs WC. The exterior of the 4.5m deep extension will be finished in white render to match the existing house & to comply with Permitted Development rules, however the design of the interior is less conventional. The large sliding doors & roof windows will flood the space with natural light. The exposed roof structure & the use of high quality materials such facing brickwork & hardwood flooring will give the new kitchen-dining room a fantastic contemporary appearance.

Planning approval (via the Permitted Development 'Larger Home Extensions' scheme) was obtained in 2019. Construction is due to commence in early 2020.
